The clean that actually gets you smiling.
Scale, polish and stain removal from a dedicated hygienist — no dentist appointment required, and walk-ins are welcome.
A toothbrush only ever reaches so far. Hardened tartar below the gumline is the main driver of gum disease and bad breath, and it can only be removed professionally — regular hygienist visits are the single best thing most patients can do for their long-term oral health.
Hygienist appointment (30 minutes) £75 · Extended periodontal (gum) treatment £180 · Denplan members save 20%.
Do I need to see a dentist before booking a hygienist?
No — walk-in and direct-access hygienist appointments are available without a dentist referral or exam first. If we spot something that needs a dentist's attention, we'll flag it and help you book that separately.
How often should I have a hygiene appointment?
Most patients do well with a visit every 6 months, but some benefit from every 3–4 months — particularly with gum disease, heavy staining, or orthodontic treatment. We'll recommend a schedule at your first visit.
Does a hygiene clean hurt?
Most patients feel light pressure or vibration rather than pain. If you have sensitive teeth or gums, tell us beforehand and we'll adjust our approach.
What's the difference between plaque and tartar?
Plaque is the soft film that forms daily and a toothbrush can remove; left alone it hardens into tartar within about 24–72 hours, which only professional scaling can remove.
